RBC would like to express our Gratitude
There are certain individuals that do a little more than everyone else to help make RBC rides fun and enjoyable for all. These people take responsibility on themselves to look out for the rest of us. In 2009 we’ve had some great ride leaders.
If you’ve ridden with RBC’s D group and ended up at a Starbucks, then you probably have Ken Mogi with Dyno, Jeff and Cliff to thank. Every week they apprentice new riders in the arts of group riding and remind us that cycling really is supposed to be fun.
Even though they’ve passed the torch for leading the C group on to John Hawksley, Vicki and Stirling still are quick to lend a hand even before it is asked. With years of experience they can tell you just how unique the challenge of leading our most diverse group of riders really is. This year John H stepped up to the plate and he continues to ensure that the C group is going places. He is joined by an ambitous new rider in Tom Bonjiovani who gives the fastest C riders someone to chase. Tom, good luck on your mission to get 1000 miles in this month.
Our B group has been led by Jon Grundman. Stepping up to lead this group is a challenge in itself. Thank you Jon for putting together excellent routes and to both you and Danny for lending a hand to anyone on our rides that needs one. It takes great strength to lead our B group from the front and that is where you will find Dan Bartlett. Thanks for giving us all something to chase.
Can you think of someone else who has made a contribution riding with RBC? If so, please let them know and share your observations here.
Want to lend a hand yourself? We’re always looking for new routes and ride leaders. Send me an email at hpthorn@gmail.com with your ideas and wishes.
Thank you all for making 2009 a great year for cycling.
