Upcoming events menu – Next to the location i.e.’ mission inn and Main st.’ is the time. The color of the time is black and can’t see with the dark blue background.

    Fixed.

  4. A section where members can post good bike-related discoveries that may benefit the membership: Sales at local retailers, cool items, and methods & techniques, in other words, solutions to problems.

For example, I wanted stainless steel water bottles, not plastic, for my new bike. No bike shop on the “Our Friends” list carries them, much less of the right color. While steel is available online, but I do not shop online. Yesterday, however, I discovered by chance a local supplier carrying a fabulous selection. (Target store. 3333 Arlington Ave, Riverside, 951-276-9319) The brand is H2GO, 24oz. ea., is available in many colors, and is two to a pack/$18. I bought a dark blue, my bike’s color. They are tall but fit snugly into the bottle racks. This discovery made my day.

Another example: I required a method to alleviate pain from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome irritation. My current solution is to place a layer of foam tubing on the handle bars and wrap it in handlebar tape. It helps.

And also: I have a concern with over-exposure to the sun, especially with the deterioration of the Ozone layers that allows too much ultraviolet light through. The visor that comes with new helmets seems inadequate as a working visor. I notice that one rider, Vicki Yearian, alleviates the problem in one way that is quick and easy. I found another: It’s a bit more complex, requiring some tools. I adapted a foam visor ($1.50) purchased at the party supplies store (adjacent to the Big 5 Sporting Goods, Magnolia & Central). The point of this visor is that it extends 2.5 inches further out. To attach it, I used hook&loop squares (Electronics Warehouse on Main St, Riverside) to adhere it under the helmet visor that comes with the helmet. I will be testing this during the Sunday ride; I am concerned that the foam may be too pliable and could flap down over my eyes in strong wind so this remains in test phase.

Anyone wishing more info. on these solutions may contact me at mailto:vanax@mail.com

  5. Hi jcgrundm,
It seems that the site is generally peppered with dark text links over a dark background.
