" Ride The Divide, " a movie about racing the 2,700 mile Continental Divide Mountain Bike Trail is being presented on February 12 at 9:00 AM, at the Camelot Theater, 2300 East Baristo Road, Palm Springs. This is about racing the Continental Divide from Canada to Mexico. After the movie there will be a Q&A with Matt Tapscott who rode the divide in 2010.

Tickets are $10.

I have watched some trailers of this movie and it looks like the Leadville 100 on steroids. I know Matt and followed his blog when he rode the trail. What an amazing journey, 2700 miles with 200,000 feet of climbing. Don't miss it.

Thanks for a great ride Bart. I really had fun learning the hilly routes of Corona. I meant to email you yesterday to let you know that Mike was at the cars when I got back. All was good. He did continue on Ontario back to the car. Have a successful business trip. Look forward to riding again with you upon your return.

Bummer. Can't believe I missed Linda and Lakepoint. I have done Lakepoint once and Bart and I were talking yesterday about wanting to do it again. Sorry I didn't ride. Bart tired me out with 4000 feet of Corona climbing yesterday and I needed to swim and run today. Hope to see you next Sat. or Sun.

Great ride today. Going over lake point twice was epic and really thinned out the crowd. Congratulations to the 3 climbing monsters who finished both climbs. Kudos to Linda Hicks- visitor Tim and that guy with the beard.
special recognition to Paul for not only going up on a single speed but hitting the top second.

It is about 40 miles. We will not tary long at the rest stops so that we can get averyone back for the Super Bowl.

I promise it will hurt badly and still have you home way before the super bowl. Bring your climbing gears. I will bring route slips Sunday morning.

Dear Riverside Cyclists,
My family and I are coming to Riverside today and staying until Tuesday to try to take care of my mom, who is on hospice at her home. We bike everywhere here in Santa Cruz (I'm the director of People Power, our local advocacy group) and would like to bike in Riverside while we are there. My mom has a couple of bikes we can use, but we need someway to take our kids- aged 6 and 1. Of course we have the equipment here but we are flying on kind of short notice. Would anyone be willing to loan or rent us a bike trailer for two kinds, or a bike seat for the infant and a tag a long bike or kids bike for the 6 year old or whatnot.

If so please call my cell phone at 831 227 4772. I won't easily have access to email.

Thanks,
Micah

There is a good amount of climbing but not nearly as much as the mapping site indicates. Probably closer to 3000 ft than the 5000 ft shown.

There are some easier bypasses if some don't want all of the hills.

I plan to ride with you. That is a lot of climbing in 38 miles. Hopefully there are some alternatives if we get too tired after the donuts. I talked to Edith and she plans on riding also. See you on Saturday at Wendy's.

Same as before. I plan on ride to the time trial.

The pre-time trial ride will start near the Wendy's at the Corona Crossings.
3515 Grand Oaks, Corona, CA 92881
The Crossings is shopping center at Cajalco off of the 15 fwy

1) We ride 5.5 miles to the start of the TT.
2) We ride the time trial and turn in awesome results because we got warmed up first ;)
3) Then 38 miles around Corona back to the cars with donuts at mile 21! You could just ride back to the cars, but then you don't get the donuts.

Please be there and RTR at 7:30. We don't want to keep Marty waiting.

Here is the route:
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/920180

Three rides for the price of one.

I am so sorry to hear of Jack's death. Chris and I send our condolences to Jack's family.
As many of you know, I work from home. I would see Jack ride by in the morning. He said that it was part of his regular route. He was my reminder to really make the effort to get a ride in. I will be there on Thursday evening.

I will be leading the ride tomorrow. Looks like we will be heading out to Norco and back via Dufferin, Bradley, etc. I am making some changes, but looks like the miles will be about 40. A good way to warm up. I will bring route slips. See y'all tomorrow.
