Diamond Valley Lake - off road ride

Hey Everybody!!! Bruce Meeks here, I'm planning a ride around Diamond Valley Lake. We'll meet at the East Marina. It'll be a fun ride of about 21.4 miles. We are going to ride the bike/hike trail. This is NOT a ride you want to bring a road bike on, but a mountain or hybrid bike should be fine. The is little shade, and no water on the trail, so pack accordingly. Bring a lunch, and we can picnic it after the ride.

From Riverside take I215 south to CA-74 east exit. The highway name will change to Florida Ave. Continue on Florida and then turn right right (south) onto Sanderson Ave. Turn left (east) onto Domenigoini Parkway. Follow Domenigoni Parkway to Searl Parkway, and turn right at the Visitor Center. Follow the signs to the Marina.

Parking at the Marina is $9.00, and the Trail fee is $2.00. You can park at the Visitor Center for free, but I wouldn't advise it unless you are in GREAT shape (the road from the Visitor Center to the Marina is long and STEEP!!!)

Look forward to seeing everyone!!

VP Bruce

LAST YEARS DETAILS  --  24 mile ride around DVL on dirt.  Very scenic, no steep climbs and no technical trails.  Do bring lots of snacks/lunch, drinks and camera, it's beautiful.  After the ride we'll hike up the hill to see the wild flowers.

We will meet at the boat launch/store, east side of lake.  There is a charge to enter the lake so maybe carpool, or if energetic, ride in.  (:

Meet at 8:30 ride around 9am.
